🧾 Ingredients
For the crust:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
For the caramel layer:
- 1 (11 oz) bag soft caramels (or ~35 pieces)
- ½ cup heavy cream
For the topping:
- 1 ½ cups chopped pecans
- 1 ½ cups chocolate chunks or chocolate chips
🔪 Instructions
1. Make the Crust
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mix flour, brown sugar, and butter until crumbly.
- Press evenly into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
2. Prepare the Caramel
- In a saucepan (or microwave), melt caramels with heavy cream.
- Stir until smooth and creamy.
3. Assemble Layers
- Sprinkle half of the pecans over the baked crust.
- Pour melted caramel evenly over the nuts.
- Add remaining pecans on top.
4. Add Chocolate
- Sprinkle chocolate chunks evenly over the hot caramel.
- Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then gently spread as it melts (or leave chunky like in your image).
5. Bake Again
- Return to oven and bake for 10–12 minutes.
6. Cool & Set
- Let cool completely at room temp, then refrigerate for 1–2 hours.
- Slice into bars once fully set.
